Death Valley in Spring (March 2012)

Lexi losing it a little on the long drive to Death Valley.  When we go there and told her "here it is - our dessert vacation"  She very clearly stated "This not cation, I want the other kind, on a plane in Hawaii" .... Hmmmm - not what she was expecting.  LOL!

We stayed at the Furnace Creek Ranch.  We took over four of the cabins.  Each had rocking chairs on the porch.  There was a spring fed pool that Lexi and Laura enjoyed, a very small put put golf, basketball and tennis.

SCOTTY's CASTLE...

Hey Lexi - a pay phone!  Do you know what that is?

Scotty's Castle - Lexi and Tessie slept on the drive there.  We left our "ranch" at below sea level to go visit Scotty's Castle that was over 3,000 feet in elevation!

A one day trip to Bakersfield!

What a crazy day!  Up at 4am, in the car by 4:30 - at Ally's Dance Class by 10:00 - then off to Rob's car dealership to trade in our favorite truck for a monster of a Suburban.  Playtime and early dinner at the Bowles - with all the Kenny family too!  Back in the car at 6:00 PM and home... again!  And Ronan was such a good sport as Ally and Lexi took charge of the light sabers in their princess dresses - then convinced him to take them on a wagon ride!

A visit from Minnesota Family!

We were blessed with a quick but special visit from Lexi's birthfamily.  They did a whirlwind weekend and spent some time with us and some time down south.  Thank you to "Minni Val" (Minnesota Val - birthgrandmother) and Bonnie (half sister) for taking the time to make the trip.  We had a great time!
